Melissa Jane Doyle AM is an Australian journalist, novelist, and television presenter. Doyle currently hosts Weekend Breakfast on Smooth FM. She is most famous for being a reporter at Seven Network.

Melissa Doyle was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on February 10, 1970. Doyle studied at the Charles Sturt University located in Bathurst, New South Wales, and received her bachelor's degree in communications.

While studying in college, Doyle served as a broadcaster on the radio station located inside the campus, 2MCE-FM.

Marriage, Husband, and Children

She is married to John, and the couple has two children, Nicholas and Talia. Their little girl, Talia, was born on December 18, 2003, and Nick was born two years earlier. John and Melissa met when she was only 23 and starting on her news coverage journey. From the beginning, they realized they had discovered an adoration that would last a long time.

Career and Net Worth

Melissa Doyle acquired a cadetship in the Canberra bureau of WIN Television in the year 1990. She later shifted to Prime Television, where she worked as a news anchor and a general reporter. Doyle joined Seven Network located in Sydney and worked as a political reporter in Canberra after quitting Prime TV in 1995. She also presented the afternoon news occasionally and was one of the original anchors of the show, which was axed in the year 1999 but later reinstated in 2000. Doyle joined the show in 2002. She also presents the Seven Late News.

She ended up covering a broad scope of stories, from universally exclusive interviews with James Hewitt, Princess Diana's former sweetheart, and Rebel Wilson, to stories on PTSD and the Jonestown slaughter.

Doyle anchored the first Australian Federal Election debate of 2013 between Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister and the labor leader, and Tony Abbott, the Liberal party leader, on 7TWO. She also covered the 2013 Federal Election alongside Mark Riley, Matt White, and Chris Bath.

Doyle has also written a weekly column in the Sunday Herald Sun, the best-selling newspaper in Australia. Titled as Balancing Act, the column included the trials she faced as a career woman with two kids to look after. Doyle is also an author, and her first book named 'The Working Mothers Survival Guide' sold more than 10,000 copies on the first print.

Her documentary 'The Zoo' broadcasted on Seven Network generated over 1.7 million viewers in the first three weeks, making it one of the most-watched programs.

She was involved in a controversy when she identified a minor who divorced his parents. Since it was not permissible to identify the children in a court case, Sunday Herald Sun and Today Tonight identified him, leading to contempt of court proceedings against them.

She energetically supports numerous causes. She is National Patron for the Make A Wish Foundation and an Ambassador for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, The Children's Hospital at Westmead, World Vision, Children's Cancer Institute, Adopt Change, Legacy, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Other work

Allen & Unwin published Doyle's first book, The Working Mothers Survival Guide (co-written with Jo Scard), in October 2007. In its first print run, it sold over 10,000 copies. Alphabet Soup, her second book, was published in 2014. During its first few months on the market, the memoir was the best-selling Australian memoir. Doyle and Koch also co-hosted 'Where Are They Now?' on the Seven Network.

Doyle previously wrote a weekly column called "Balancing Act" for Australia's most popular newspaper, the Sunday Herald Sun in Melbourne. Her experiences as a working mother were discussed in the post.
