In the late 1980s, she transitioned to covering finance and business news for CBC Television, where she presented complex topics in accessible ways. She hosted various CBC programs such as The Lead, The Day, Sunday Report, Newsworld Reports, and CBC News Morning. In 2005, she became the CBC Washington correspondent, succeeding David Halton.
