Alexandra Nicole Michael was born on May 15, 1990, in Colleyville, Texas. She enjoyed a fulfilling childhood in Texas and began developing an interest in modeling at a young age. Her breakthrough came in 2005 when she won the Fashion!Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search at just 15 years old. She graduated from Grapevine High School in May 2008 and soon relocated to New York City to pursue a full-time modeling career.
In 2006, Michael signed with DNA Models and made an early appearance in an editorial for Italian Elle. Her runway debut came in February 2007 at New York Fashion Week, where she opened for designers 3.1 Phillip Lim and Alice Roi. That same year, she also walked in the Fall shows for Marc by Marc Jacobs in London and Lanvin in Paris.
Throughout 2007, her popularity grew rapidly. She appeared in notable fashion publications including W, French Revue de Modes, Harper's Bazaar, and Teen Vogue. In October of that year, she walked the runway for prestigious fashion houses in Paris, including Chanel, Christian Dior, Karl Lagerfeld, and Lanvin, solidifying her status in the modeling industry.
In February 2008, after being sidelined from some Fashion Week shows, Michael publicly addressed her struggles with eating disorders. Her honesty helped raise awareness of health issues affecting models and sparked broader industry discussions surrounding body image and wellness.
