Bristol Palin is an American television personality, best known as the daughter of former Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Bristol Sheeran Marie Palin was born on October 18, 1990, in Wasilla, Alaska. She is the second of four children born to Todd and Sarah Palin. Her father, Todd Palin, worked as an oil field production operator for BP and became a champion snowmobile racer. According to her mother, Bristol was considered mature for her age and demonstrated nurturing instincts from an early age.
Until 2006, Bristol led a relatively ordinary life in Alaska. She was described by her peers as fun and independent, and she maintained a solid academic performance. That year, her mother's election as governor of Alaska significantly changed their family dynamic, placing them under greater public scrutiny. As a result of her family’s relocation for political duties, Bristol attended several high schools, including Juneau-Douglas High School, West Anchorage High School, and finally Wasilla High School in her hometown.
Bristol Palin entered the national spotlight during the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign, when her mother was selected as John McCain's running mate. Though the campaign ended in defeat, Bristol remained in the public eye.
She made her television debut portraying herself on the teen drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager on ABC Family. In 2010, she competed on season 11 of the reality show Dancing with the Stars, partnered with professional dancer Mark Ballas. The duo finished in third place. That same year, she appeared on the TLC docuseries Sarah Palin’s Alaska alongside her family.
In 2011, she published her memoir, Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far, co-written with Nancy French. The following year, Bristol starred in her own reality series, Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp, which aired on Lifetime and documented her life as a young mother in Alaska. Over the years, she has made guest appearances on various talk shows and reality programs, contributing to her status as a television personality.
In March 2015, Bristol announced her engagement to Dakota Meyer, a former U.S. Marine and Medal of Honor recipient. Although their May 2015 wedding was called off, the couple reconciled and married in June 2016. The couple later divorced in 2018. They share two daughters together, and Bristol also has a son from a previous relationship.
In September 2019, it was reported that Bristol's father, Todd Palin, had filed for divorce from her mother, Sarah Palin, after more than 31 years of marriage.
As a result of her television appearances and public engagements, Bristol Palin has accumulated a net worth estimated at around $500,000. In addition to her media work, she has been involved in public speaking engagements and once worked as a paid spokesperson for teen pregnancy prevention programs. More recently, she has developed a career in real estate in Texas.
