David Andrews is an American football center who plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL).
David Andrews attended Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, where he began his football career as a two-way lineman. As a sophomore, he contributed to Wesleyan’s victory in the 2008 GHSA Class A state championship. During his junior and senior seasons, Andrews earned recognition from his coaches for tallying over 100 knockdown blocks while not allowing a single quarterback sack.
His standout performance led to several honors, including being named the 2010 Gwinnett County Offensive Lineman of the Year. He also secured a spot on the All-County First Team Offense, as selected by the Gwinnett Daily Post.
Football talent runs in Andrews' family. His uncle, Dan Reeves, was a former player for the Dallas Cowboys and later served as the head coach for the Denver Broncos, among other NFL teams.
Andrews played college football at the University of Georgia, where he developed a solid reputation as a reliable and durable center. Over his collegiate career, he became a key component of the Bulldogs' offensive line, starting multiple seasons and earning praise for his leadership and performance on the field.
David Andrews joined the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Through his hard work and consistency, he quickly earned the trust of coaches and teammates. On May 12, 2017, Andrews signed a three-year contract extension with the Patriots, securing his position with the team through the 2020 season.
That same year, on September 5, 2017, he was named a team captain for the first time in his NFL career—a testament to his leadership both on and off the field. During the 2017 season, Andrews started 17 of 19 total games, including playoff appearances, and anchored the offensive line in Super Bowl LII, where the Patriots were narrowly defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles.
