Born on 28 December 1940 in Talca, Chile, he gained fame for creating and hosting various Spanish-language television programs. He became especially popular on the Univision Network in the United States, where his shows reached Spanish-speaking audiences across the country.</p>

<p>Don Francisco is best known as the long-time host of the variety show <i>Sábado Gigante</i>, which ran for over 53 years until its final episode in September 2015, as well as <i><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Francisco_Presenta">Don Francisco Presenta</a></i>.
