<p>Ellison Barber is an American <a href="/biography/ellison-barber">journalist</a> known for her coverage of major political and social events. She was born on October 20, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia. Barber earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wofford College in 2012, laying the foundation for her career in journalism.</p>

<h2>Journalism Career</h2>

<p>Barber began her career as a staff writer at The Washington Free Beacon, where she reported on the United States Congress. She later joined WUSA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C., serving as the Deputy Bureau Chief for Prince George’s County. During her tenure at WUSA-TV, she reported on several high-profile stories, including the 2015 murders of the Savopoulos family and the protests following the police-involved shooting of Terrence Sterling.</p>

<p>She also covered the May Day protests in response to <a href="/biography/donald-trump">President</a> <a href="/biography/donald-trump">Trump</a>’s immigration-related executive orders and produced a five-part investigative series on missing savings bonds in 2016.
