Jimmi Simpson, an American actor, was born on November 21, 1975, in Hackettstown, New Jersey. He is the youngest of three brothers. Simpson attended Hackettstown High School before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. Following college, he honed his craft at the prestigious Williamstown Theatre Festival in Massachusetts.
Simpson made his film debut in 2000 with a supporting role in the comedy "Loser." He quickly transitioned into television, appearing in a variety of series such as the Stephen King miniseries "Rose Red," "24," "NYPD Blue," "Cold Case," and HBO’s "Carnivàle." His versatility as an actor allowed him to take on diverse characters across genres.
In the film industry, Simpson appeared in a range of notable projects. These include Disney's "Herbie: Fully Loaded" (2005) alongside Lindsay Lohan, the Western thriller "Seraphim Falls" (2006) with Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan, and the critically acclaimed "Zodiac" (2007), directed by David Fincher.

Simpson met actress Melanie Lynskey on the set of "Rose Red" in 2001. The couple became engaged in 2005 and were married on April 14, 2007, in a chapel ceremony in Queenstown, New Zealand. Their marriage ended when Lynskey filed for divorce in September 2012, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in May 2014.
