Noel Ernest Edmonds was born on December 22, 1948, in Ilford, Essex, England. He is the son of a school headmaster. Edmonds attended Glade Primary School in Clayhall before continuing his education at Brentwood School in Essex. Forgoing university, he opted to begin his career in broadcasting at an early age.
