<p>Rory Scovel, born on August 6, 1980, in Greenville, South Carolina, is an American <a href="/biography/rory-scovel">comedian</a> and actor known for his distinctive improvisational style. He spent his formative years participating in sports such as basketball, tennis, and soccer, and often described himself as a hyperactive class clown. Scovel attended St. Mary’s Catholic School followed by Greenville Senior High School before enrolling at the University of South Carolina Upstate, where he played collegiate soccer for four years.</p>

<h2>Stand-Up Comedy Beginnings</h2>
<p>Scovel's introduction to stand-up comedy began with an open mic night in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
