<p>Kim Soo Hyun is a South Korean <a href="/biography/kim-soo-hyun">actor</a> born on February 16, 1988, in Seoul, South Korea. His mother encouraged him to take acting classes during his school years to help him overcome his introverted nature. His <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/김충훈">father</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/김충훈">Kim Chung-hoon</a>, was the lead <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/김충훈">singer</a> of the 1980s band "Seven Dolphins." Kim Soo Hyun later pursued his passion for acting by enrolling in Chung-Ang University's Department of Film and Theater in 2009.</p>

<h2>Acting Debut and Early Roles</h2>

<p>Kim made his television debut in 2007 with a supporting role in the family sitcom <i>Kimchi Cheese Smile</i>.
