Kim Soo Hyun is a South Korean actor born on February 16, 1988, in Seoul, South Korea. His mother encouraged him to take acting classes during his school years to help him overcome his introverted nature. His father, Kim Chung-hoon, was the lead singer of the 1980s band "Seven Dolphins." Kim Soo Hyun later pursued his passion for acting by enrolling in Chung-Ang University's Department of Film and Theater in 2009.
Kim made his television debut in 2007 with a supporting role in the family sitcom Kimchi Cheese Smile. The following year, he gained recognition for his role in KBS's critically acclaimed teen drama Jungle Fish, which addressed real social issues faced by South Korean students. During this time, he also appeared as one of the hosts on the food-based variety show Delicious Quiz.
