Major Film Roles and Continued Success

Jones continued her film career with roles in high-profile projects. She portrayed Emma Frost in the 2011 superhero film X-Men: First Class, co-starring James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. That same year, she appeared alongside Liam Neeson and Diane Kruger in Jaume Collet-Serra's thriller Unknown, as well as in Seeking Justice with Nicolas Cage and Guy Pearce.

On television, she took on the role of Melissa Chartres in Fox’s post-apocalyptic sitcom The Last Man on Earth, which aired from 2015 to 2018. In 2019, she appeared in Netflix’s The Politician as the wife of Dylan McDermott's character. She also starred in the 2020 Netflix drama Spinning Out, playing a bipolar single mother of two figure skaters.

Media Appearances and Modeling

Outside of acting, Jones has had a notable modeling career. She ranked No. 82 on Maxim's Hot 100 Women in 2002 and appeared on the cover of GQ’s “The Hot Issue” in May 2009. Her appearance as host on Saturday Night Live on November 14, 2009, featured a musical performance by The Black Eyed Peas.

In addition to her film and television work, she appeared in the British film The Boat That Rocked—released in North America as Pirate Radio—in 2009, further establishing her as a recognizable figure in international cinema.

Personal Life

During the late 1990s, Jones worked as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, during which time she dated fellow model and actor Ashton Kutcher. From 2003 to 2006, she was in a relationship with singer Josh Groban. In 2011, she gave birth to a son named Xander, though she has chosen not to publicly disclose the identity of his father.

Jones is an avid fan of Robert Stack, and comedian Jim Carrey once gifted her Stack’s autograph. She maintains a strong interest in unsolved mysteries, particularly UFO phenomena. She also has a tattoo on her forearm that reads "Bellatrix," a Latin word meaning "female warrior."
