Nick Vallelonga is an American actor, screenwriter, and film director, best known for co-writing and producing the film Green Book, which earned him two Academy Awards.
Vallelonga developed a passion for the arts at a young age. At twelve, he appeared in the wedding scene of the acclaimed mafia crime film The Godfather, an experience that sparked his interest in filmmaking. He later studied acting in New York under renowned instructors, including Tom Brennan of Circle in the Square, William Hickey of HB Studio, and Julie Bovasso of the Actors Studio.
Nick began his professional career with performances in various off-Broadway stage productions and secured small roles in films and on television. His early acting work served as a foundation for his future pursuits in film writing and directing.
In addition to acting, Vallelonga worked behind the camera at CBS News, where he contributed to several major broadcasts. His roles included monitoring and editing footage for popular programs such as CBS This Morning, The NFL Today, and The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.
Vallelonga co-wrote the screenplay for Deadfall alongside director Christopher Coppola. The film, which gained modest attention, featured a notable cast including Nicolas Cage, Michael Biehn, James Coburn, Charlie Sheen, Peter Fonda, Talia Shire, Angus Scrimm, Clarence Williams III, and Micky Dolenz. This early project marked one of his first major entries into screenwriting and filmmaking.
