Professional Football Career
In 2012, Keenum joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent, signing with the Houston Texans and initially joining their practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster in 2013 and made his first start against the Kansas City Chiefs, throwing his first career touchdown pass during the game.

Keenum had a journeyman career, moving between multiple NFL teams. He spent time with the St. Louis Rams (later the Los Angeles Rams), where he briefly served as starting quarterback.
