Jarvis Jones entered the professional ranks when he was selected 17th overall in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Competing for the starting right outside linebacker position, he faced competition from teammates Jason Worilds and Terence Garvin. He made his NFL debut on September 8, 2013, in a game against the Tennessee Titans, where he recorded two solo tackles.
Building on his rookie campaign, Jones opened the 2014 season as the Steelers’ starting right outside linebacker. On September 7, 2014, he notched his first sack of the season. Although his professional career did not reach the same level of prominence as his college tenure, he contributed meaningfully to the Steelers' linebacker unit over several seasons.
Jones has faced personal adversity alongside his athletic challenges. One of the most tragic moments in his life occurred on January 9, 2005, when his brother was fatally shot outside a bar. Despite these hardships—including the serious neck injury early in his career—Jones remained focused on his goals and continued to pursue success both on and off the field.
Off the field, he secured an endorsement deal with Subway, enhancing his public profile and financial stability. He has also embraced social media, particularly Twitter, where he has amassed over 70,000 followers. Jones uses his platform to connect with fans and share insights into his life and career.
