By 2005, Rebecca was appointed as the presenter of Seven Afternoon News, replacing David Johnston until the broadcast was moved to Sydney. She also served as a presenter for The Morning News and Sunrise and often filled in for Melbourne's weekend news bulletins. In 2011, she was named the number one female ticket holder for the Geelong Football Club, a nod to her loyal support and public profile in the region.

When Seven Afternoon News returned to Melbourne production in 2013, she resumed her role as presenter, replacing Samantha Armytage.
