Early Life and Education

Ryan Ruocco, a well-known TV sports presenter, was born on November 18, 1986, and raised in Fishkill, New York. A passionate sports enthusiast from a young age, he attended the Hackley School in Tarrytown before graduating from Fordham University with a degree in communications. During his time at Fordham, Ruocco became actively involved in sports broadcasting, contributing to college radio shows such as “One on One” and “Yankees,” which laid the foundation for his professional career.

Career Beginnings and Growth in Sports Broadcasting

Ruocco began his career in sports media at a young age and has spent over a decade in the industry. He started as a play-by-play announcer for the Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball, gradually establishing himself as a versatile and dynamic voice in sports broadcast journalism. In 2007, he joined the YES Network as a statistician and steadily moved up the ranks. His first major assignment as a play-by-play announcer for the network came in 2015, covering a series between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees.

Work with YES Network and Brooklyn Nets

Currently, Ryan Ruocco serves as the play-by-play announcer for the Brooklyn Nets broadcast team on the YES Network. His role includes offering insightful game narration and in-depth analysis. Over the years, he has also contributed to college sports coverage on YES. He gained additional visibility by hosting the show “This Week in Football,” which focused on the New York Jets and the New York Giants.
