Samantha Saint-Claire Ponder, born Samantha Steele on December 11, 1985, in Phoenix, Arizona, is a well-known sportscaster and columnist. She attended Central High School in Phoenix before moving to New York City, where she enrolled at The King's College.

Career Beginnings at ESPN

In 2003, after relocating to New York, Samantha began working as a hostess at the ESPN Zone restaurant. It was there that she caught the attention of Ben Keeperman, a manager at ABC. Impressed by her potential as a broadcaster and reporter, Keeperman offered her a position as an assistant on an ABC-TV sports program.

Academic Pursuits and Early Reporting Work

Following her initial experience in media, Samantha transferred to Liberty University, where she completed her undergraduate education. While attending Liberty, she received an offer to work as a sideline reporter for the university's athletic program, the Liberty Flames.

Rise at Fox Sports

After graduating, Ponder launched her professional broadcasting career with the Fox Network. She contributed reports on college football and basketball and served as a host for Fox Sports Net and Fox College Sports. She also wrote columns for FoxSports.com, establishing herself as a versatile figure in sports journalism.

Transition to ESPN and the Longhorn Network

In July 2011, Samantha left Fox Sports to join ESPN's Longhorn Network, a regional sports channel based in Texas. Collaborating with fellow reporters Kevin Dunn and Lowell Galindo, she produced feature stories and reported on events for studio shows. Her new role required her to relocate temporarily to Austin, Texas.
