Aimee Carrero is a Dominican-American actress born on July 15, 1988, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Her mother is Dominican, and her father is Puerto Rican. Carrero was raised in Miami, Florida, where she developed an early interest in the performing arts. She attended Florida International University and graduated magna cum laude in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations, completing her studies in just two years.
Initially planning to pursue law school, Carrero ultimately chose to follow her passion for acting. She began her acting career in community theater in Miami before transitioning to film and television.
Aimee Carrero is perhaps best known as the voice of She-Ra in the animated Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018–2020), a role that earned her widespread recognition and praise for her empowering portrayal of the iconic character.
Her first feature film role was a supporting part in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (2009), where she played the character Emily. Carrero's other film credits include Never Winter (2010), Devil’s Due (2014), The Last Witch Hunter (2015), The Portuguese Kid (2018), and Dylan (2018).
