Alfred Enoch, widely recognized by his nickname "Alfie," was born on December 2, 1988, in Westminster, London. A British national of mixed heritage, he is the son of English actor William Russell and Brazilian doctor Balbina Gutierrez. Enoch attended the prestigious Westminster School, a well-known public school in London. His Brazilian roots contributed to his fluency in Portuguese. He later went on to study at The Queen’s College, Oxford, where he earned a degree in Spanish and Portuguese. In addition to his academic pursuits, Enoch was active in extracurricular activities, including being a member of his school’s rowing team.

In 2014, Enoch transitioned to American television with a leading role as Wes Gibbins in the ABC legal thriller How to Get Away with Murder. The series, known for its critical acclaim and strong cast performances, significantly boosted his profile. His portrayal earned him two consecutive NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
