Brown has built a steady television career with roles that highlight her versatility. She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Lisa Niles on General Hospital and Taylor Stappord in the first season of Devious Maids. Her role as Lynne Reed in the acclaimed series Homeland and appearances in shows like Castle (Eva Whitfield), The Mentalist (Krystal Markham), and Graceland (Kelly Badillo) further solidified her place in television.
She also played Leda in the HBO series True Blood and guest-starred in Criminal Minds as Megan Kane. In 2017, she was cast as Claudia Blaisdel in The CW’s reboot of Dynasty, a reimagining of the iconic 1980s drama series.
Brown has participated in various short and independent films, showcasing her range beyond mainstream television and film. Notable appearances include Retail Therapy (2011) as Brianna Hyatt, No Destination (2007) as Aryl, Ex Post Facto (2005) as Lynn, and Yuri & Me (2003) as Dee Dee.
Her body of work demonstrates her flexibility as an actress and dedication to diverse roles. Regarding her busy career, Brown said, “I don't really know why I'm so busy, but I like it. Sometimes I think I need to slow down. And then I'm even busier!”
Outside of acting, Brown is active in community-building efforts and women’s empowerment. She is the co-founder of the Green Goddess Investment Club and founded The New Hollywood Women's Goal Group, an organization focused on supporting women in the entertainment industry and beyond.
In recognition of her philanthropic efforts, she was honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2011 as a Woman Making a Difference. That same year, she won the Best Actress Award at the Long Island Film Festival for her performance as Bretta in The Encounter.
In her personal time, Brown enjoys reading and practicing yoga. She has a deep love for musical theater and often reflects on her early days on stage. “I so miss musical theater. I would love to perform at that level. I love the exchange with the audience. I love being able to sing and dance to express your emotions and the community and friendships that are formed when working on a theater piece.”
Given her extensive achievements in film and television, Brown may one day return to her roots in stage acting, bringing her screen-honed talents to live audiences once again.
