Born in Birmingham, England, Catherine Elizabeth Deeley, known professionally as Cat Deeley, began her modeling career at a young age. Her introduction to the industry came when she reached the finals of the BBC competition 'The Clothes Show' at the age of 14. By 16, she had started professional modeling, which helped establish her presence in the entertainment world.

Transition to Television Presenting

Deeley transitioned from modeling to television in 1997, joining MTV UK as a presenter. She rose to prominence co-hosting the ITV Saturday morning show SMTV Live and its companion music program CD:UK.
