Chloe Lattanzi was born in Los Angeles, California, to prominent entertainers. Her mother, Olivia Newton-John, gained worldwide fame starring as Sandy in the film adaptation of the musical Grease and achieved major success in the 1980s with her hit song "Physical". Her father, Matt Lattanzi, is an actor and dancer. Olivia and Matt met in 1979 while filming Xanadu, where dancing legend Gene Kelly also starred. According to family recollections, Kelly played a key role in introducing the couple. They married in 1984 and later divorced in 1995, a separation that was widely covered by media outlets including Marie Claire.

Chloe is also the great-granddaughter of the renowned physicist Max Born, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1954 for his foundational work in quantum mechanics.

The illness had advanced to Stage 4 and had spread to her sacrum, the triangular bone at the base of the spine. At the time, Olivia was 70 years old and sought support from her family, including her husband, John Easterling, and her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi.
