Acting Career

Cody Linley began his acting career in 1998, not 1994, contrary to some sources. One of his earliest credited roles was in the made-for-TV movie Still Holding On: The Legend of Cadillac Jack. He went on to earn supporting roles in various films throughout the early 2000s, including My Dog Skip, Walker, Texas Ranger, Where the Heart Is, and Miss Congeniality. He also appeared in Cheaper by the Dozen and starred in the independent feature When Zachary Beaver Came to Town.

Linley played roles in several family and teen-oriented productions such as Rebound and The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It. One of his most notable film performances was in Hoot, acting alongside Brie Larson and Logan Lerman.

Although widely rumored, Linley did not appear in Hey Arnold! The Movie, and there is no evidence suggesting he played a live-action version of Arnold in any commercial for the franchise.

Television Roles and Disney Channel Appearances

Cody Linley became a familiar face on the Disney Channel due to his recurring role as Jake Ryan, Miley Stewart’s on-again, off-again love interest, in the popular series Hannah Montana. He co-hosted the 2008 Disney Channel Games, further solidifying his presence on the network.

He also made guest appearances in other television series, including That’s So Raven. In the episode titled "Five Finger Discount," he portrayed Daryl, a friend of Corey Baxter who persuades him to steal a monkey keychain—adding a comedic and mischievous twist to the storyline.

Dancing with the Stars

In 2008, Linley participated in Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars. At the time, he was the youngest male contestant ever to compete in the show’s history. He was originally partnered with professional dancer Julianne Hough, and the duo finished in fourth place.

During the season, Hough was temporarily hospitalized, and Linley was paired with Edyta Śliwińska, who had previously been eliminated with her partner. Hough returned in Week 9, but the pair was eliminated shortly afterward.

Linley returned in Season 8 to participate in a professional partner competition, dancing with Afton DelGrosso, who was competing for a full-time professional role on the show.

Music Career

In addition to his acting career, Cody Linley is also a singer. He released his debut single in 2010, showcasing his interest in music beyond acting. His first full-length album followed in 2012, reflecting his continued exploration into performing arts.

Other Interests

Outside of acting and music, Linley is a member of the Hollywood Knights celebrity basketball team, which participates in charity events and exhibition games. His involvement reflects his enthusiasm for sports and community engagement.
