Early Life and Background

Edurne Ganem, professionally known as Edy Ganem, was born on September 20, 1989, in Modesto, California. Although born in the United States, she was raised in a culturally rich Mexican-American household. With both Lebanese and Mexican heritage, Edy spent much of her early life traveling throughout the United States and Mexico. Before eventually settling in San Diego, she also spent time in Barcelona, Spain. Her diverse upbringing played a role in shaping her artistic sensibility and global perspective.

Education and Move to Los Angeles

Ganem completed her higher education at San Diego University. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time career in the entertainment industry, where she now resides.

Career Beginnings and Breakthrough

She began her acting career in the early 2000s, making guest appearances on television shows such as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Entourage, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Her first significant role came in 2008 when she was cast in the TV series Life, Love & Hollywood as a model, marking her transition from minor appearances to more prominent roles.

Film and Television Success

In 2009, Edy made her film debut in The Way to Happiness. The following year, she appeared in several projects, including Las Angeles, Round About, Black Limousine, and The Loneliest Road in America. In 2010, she also played the titular role in the short-lived series Living Loud.

Her acting continued to gain attention with roles in 2011’s indie films such as Laptops, Salvador, Sex/Absurd, Lucha, The Ghostmaker, and the award-winning film Like Crazy.

Devious Maids and Recognition

Edy rose to mainstream fame in 2013 with her role as Valentina Diaz in the Lifetime comedy-drama series Devious Maids. She portrayed the spirited 19-year-old daughter of fellow maid Zoila, both of whom worked for the wealthy Delatour family. The role showcased Edy's strong acting range and helped solidify her status as a rising star in Hollywood.

In addition to Devious Maids, she appeared in other television shows such as Rob and provided a voice role in The Cleveland Show. In 2014, she landed a lead role in the film After the Wedding and starred in several short films, further establishing her reputation in the film industry.
