Eric Balfour is a talented American actor and singer, born on April 24, 1977, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Sharon (née Salter), a marriage and family therapist, and David Balfour, a chiropractor. Of Jewish heritage, Balfour is also of French-Canadian and Native American descent. He has one younger sister, Tori. During their childhood, Eric and Tori spent time playing together in a small playhouse in the backyard of their Los Angeles home.
Eric Balfour began his acting career with a debut appearance on the children's television series Kids Incorporated at the age of 14, not 20 as commonly misstated. He appeared on the show for one season and quickly showed promise as a young actor. His early television work included guest appearances on a range of popular series such as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Arresting Behavior, Step by Step, and Boy Meets World.
Balfour gained significant attention for his role as Jesse McNally in the pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, portraying the show's first on-screen vampire victim.
