Isaiah Wynn is an American football offensive lineman who currently plays for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL).
Isaiah Emmanuel Wynn was born on December 10, 1996, in St. Petersburg, Florida. He attended the University of Georgia, where he played college football and emerged as a key contributor on the offensive line. While at Georgia, Wynn majored in human development and family science, balancing academic achievement with athletic success.
Wynn began his collegiate football career with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2014. As a true freshman, he appeared in 11 games, quickly establishing himself as a reliable member of the offensive line. Over the next two seasons (2015 and 2016), Wynn became a regular starter, starting 25 of 26 games and compiling a streak of 23 consecutive starts before missing one game against Louisiana due to injury.
Prior to the 2017 season, Wynn missed several practices because of a medical issue, though he returned to help anchor Georgia’s offensive line during a standout season. His performance earned him national recognition, culminating in being named a Second-Team All-American on December 11, 2017. This accolade significantly boosted his visibility ahead of the NFL Draft.
Isaiah Wynn was selected by the New England Patriots with the 23rd overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. The selection was made using a pick acquired from the Los Angeles Rams as part of the trade that sent wide receiver Brandin Cooks to Los Angeles. The deal proved mutually beneficial, as each team leveraged the trade to bolster key areas of need.
