Jeremy McKinnon

Jeremy McKinnon is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer best known as a founding member and the lead vocalist of the rock band A Day to Remember. In addition to his work with the band, McKinnon has produced full-length albums for other artists, including The Ghost Inside, Neck Deep, The Devil Wears Prada, and Wage War.

Early Life and Background

Jeremy Wade McKinnon was born on December 17, 1985, in Ocala, Florida. He was raised alongside two sisters, an experience he has described as formative, being the only male sibling. His parents, originally from Brooklyn, New York, are of Irish and Italian descent. Before beginning his music career, McKinnon worked at Boston Market and later in construction to support himself.

Musical Influences and Career

McKinnon's passion for music was influenced heavily by the punk rock band Millencolin, which he cites as one of his earliest inspirations. Additionally, he credits ska punk group Less Than Jake for inspiring his on-stage presence and performance style. As the frontman of A Day to Remember, McKinnon helped shape the band’s distinctive blend of metalcore and pop punk. His versatility has also led him into music production, where he has worked with several notable bands in the rock and post-hardcore genres.

Personal Life

On December 25, 2016, McKinnon married his longtime partner, Stephanie Morrison. The couple announced in June 2017 that they were expecting their first child. Their daughter, Montana Nash McKinnon, was born on December 5, 2017.
