Joshua Bowman is an English actor born on March 4, 1988, in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, United Kingdom. He was raised alongside his sister, Scarlett Bowman, who is also an actress. Bowman was educated at Wellington College, a renowned independent school in Berkshire.

Early Athletic Career

Before pursuing acting, Bowman briefly played professional rugby. At the age of 18, he joined Saracens F.C., a leading English rugby union club. However, his athletic career was cut short due to two shoulder dislocations, prompting him to explore other professional avenues.

Acting Education and Debut

Following his sports career, Bowman relocated to New York City to study method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. His formal training paved the way for a career in television and film. He made his acting debut in 2007 with a role as Dimitri in the television series Genie in the House, a children's comedy show.

Television Roles and Recognition

Bowman's early acting roles included a recurring part in the British medical drama Holby City, where he appeared between 2009 and 2010. In 2011, he took on the role of Max Spencer in the ABC Family television drama Make It or Break It. While filming Revenge, Bowman began dating co-star Emily VanCamp. The couple announced their engagement in May 2017 and were married on December 15, 2018, in The Bahamas. Their relationship has attracted positive public attention, often cited as a successful example of an on- and off-screen romance in Hollywood.
