Lara began her professional career in 2012 as a story coordinator and producer for the television news magazine Inside Edition. She transitioned into politics during the 2016 presidential campaign, serving as a campaign adviser for Donald Trump. Lara played a visible role in the campaign, including heading the Trump-Pence Women’s Empowerment Tour and acting as a liaison at Trump Tower for digital firm Giles-Parscale, led by Brad Parscale.

Lara Yunaska married Eric Trump, the third child of Donald J. Trump, after a six-year relationship. The wedding took place on November 8, 2014, at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Eric Luke Trump, in September 2017, and their second child, a daughter named Carolina Dorothy Trump, in August 2019.
