Background and Early Life

Margot Elise Robbie was born on July 2, 1990, in Dalby, Queensland, Australia. She was raised in the Gold Coast region, approximately 500 miles north of Sydney. After her parents divorced, Robbie and her three siblings were primarily raised by their mother, a physiotherapist. Her father, a former sugarcane tycoon, was largely absent from her upbringing.

As a child, Robbie entertained various career aspirations, including becoming a magician. However, her passion for acting, developed during high school, ultimately led her to Melbourne. There, she began auditioning for roles and landed an early part in the children's fantasy drama series The Elephant Princess, which co-starred a young Liam Hemsworth.

Rise to Fame and Film Career

Robbie began her acting career in Australia, gaining national recognition for her role as Donna Freedman on the long-running soap opera Neighbours.
