Rumiko Takahashi is widely recognized as one of the most successful female manga creators in history. Early Milestones

Takahashi began her professional career in 1978. Her debut publication was Those Selfish Aliens, a comedic science fiction story that marked her entrance into the manga world. In the same year, she contributed several one-shot stories to Shōnen Sunday, including Time Warp Trouble, Shake Your Buddha, and The Golden Gods of Poverty. Shōnen Sunday would go on to serve as the primary platform for many of her most notable works for the next two decades.

Later in 1978, Takahashi launched her first full-length series, Urusei Yatsura. Although the series initially faced publication challenges, it eventually grew in popularity and became one of the most beloved anime and manga titles in Japan. The success of Urusei Yatsura marked a significant turning point in her career and established her as a leading figure in the manga industry.
