Early Life and Education

Seth Gabel was born in 1981 in Florida, United States. He is of Jewish heritage and was raised under the adoptive surname of his stepfather, Cosentino. Gabel attended the University School of Nova Southeastern University in the Davie area of Florida. He later pursued higher education at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where his passion for acting was further cultivated.

Family and Personal Life

While attending New York University, Seth Gabel met actress Bryce Dallas Howard, the daughter of acclaimed actor and director Ron Howard. The couple dated for five years before marrying in 2006. Together, they have two children: a son named Theodore Norman and a daughter named Beatrice Jean Howard. Gabel is also the great-nephew of the late actor and director Martin Gabel.

Career Breakthrough and Notable Roles

Seth Gabel gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Agent Lincoln Lee on the FOX science fiction series Fringe. The character appeared in dual forms across parallel universes, showcasing Gabel’s range and versatility. Although his role was initially written out, he returned for the show's season finale due to his popularity with fans.

Another pivotal television role for Gabel was the character of Cotton Mather on the WGN America supernatural series Salem. His performance received critical acclaim, further solidifying his reputation as a skilled actor.

Television and Film Work

Gabel has appeared in a variety of television shows, including guest roles in 100 Centre Street, Sex and the City, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Closer, and United States of Tara.

He had a recurring guest role on FX's Nip/Tuck as Adrian Moore, the emotionally complex adopted son of Ava Moore, portrayed by Famke Janssen. The role was notable for its intense psychological and relational dynamics.

On the big screen, Gabel starred in Take Me Home Tonight, a comedy released by Universal Pictures. He also appeared in The Da Vinci Code, the film adaptation of Dan Brown’s best-selling novel, directed by Ron Howard.
