Stephanie Mead, a native of Chicago, Illinois, is one of three sisters. She attended Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois, before enrolling at Northern Illinois University. In 2013, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and a minor in Journalism. During her time at university, she gained early broadcasting experience through a three-month internship at WTVO-TV, Channel 17, in Rockford, Illinois.
Stephanie began her professional media career in 2011 while still a student, serving as a weather presenter and reporter at the Northern Television Center in DeKalb. Balancing academic work with her on-air responsibilities, she developed a strong foundation in journalism and broadcasting.
Following her graduation, Stephanie joined KMVT-TV in Twin Falls, Idaho, where she worked as a weather presenter and reporter under the guidance of chief meteorologist Brian Neudorff. Her time at KMVT-TV marked the start of her professional growth in meteorology and live reporting.
In April 2015, Stephanie advanced her career by joining NBC affiliate WGBA-TV (NBC 26) in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The move brought her closer to family and offered broader exposure in the Midwest market. During her tenure in Green Bay, she frequently delivered forecasts in challenging weather conditions, including sub-zero temperatures at Lambeau Field. Her work earned her a nomination for the Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Awards in 2016 and 2017 for excellence in weather reporting.
