Oakes Fegley is an American actor best known for his roles in film and television, including Paul Swann in the film Fort Bliss and Gabriel, the human avatar of the Samaritan AI, in the television series Person of Interest.

Background and Early Life

Oakes Fegley was born on November 11, 2004, in Pennsylvania, USA. He is the son of Michael and Merce Fegley and grew up in a family interested in the performing arts. His older sister, August Fegley, and younger brother, Winslow Fegley, have also pursued acting careers. Recognizing his natural talent at an early age, his parents enrolled him in acting classes when he was just two years old.

Acting Career

Oakes Fegley began his professional acting career in 2011 with a minor role in the film Glass, where he played a character simply credited as "Kid." He made his television debut in 2014 in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, portraying a young version of the character Elias Thompson. His breakthrough came in the same year with supporting roles in This Is Where I Leave You and Fort Bliss, the latter earning him attention for his performance as Paul Swann.

In 2016, Fegley gained further acclaim for starring in Disney's live-action film Pete’s Dragon, where he played the role of Pete. His ability to carry a leading role at a young age further solidified his credibility in the film industry. Among other credits, Fegley appeared in Children of the Moon (2013), showcasing his range as a child actor.
